Back to the Blogger

This is the first time since living in Albuquerque that I've felt in the Christmas Spirit while still in town. Most years, I sort of don't get into the feeling until I travel home for the actual holiday. This time I’ve been home a few times, for short stays, in a row. That may be contributing a bit, but I think its much more due to this situation I'm in now. My best friend, my Neighbor, a good friend of mine-home for her Christmas Break, and My boyfriend are all with me tonight. We have been baking cookies, decorating Michelle's Christmas Tree and listening to Christmas music. I look around, and think about how truly blessed I am. My boyfriend and I are managing quite well (this is a feat since I met him in late summer, and it is December, all of an election year, and he has stuck around... He's a KEEPER). My friends are all fun, and we get along so well!!! The cookies are a new thing for me, I’ve never been a big fan of baking, but I even decided upon my own "kind" of cookies, and made them all by myself, by reading the recipe carefully multiple times, and then asking what I should do ever ten seconds.

This blog is generally pretty political, and this is no exception. Everyone in the house has been bashing Bush Administration, celebrating the Democratic take over of Congress, and chatting about the Inaugural Ball in Santa Fe. I don't want to be anti-social tonight, so I’m keeping this short, but I figured this jog down the blogging lane, (wish it was covered in Snow) would spur me to write more frequently, once I picked up the metaphorical pen, for a first time.

This blog is dedicated to Terra, whose cookies may not work out well, but who has been a steadfast and true friend; a politically loyal and emotionally available confidante who requested that I write more for her to read while in Oregon for school.

One day, I realize as I look around this house, will be baking these cookies as Senators, Advisors, Cabinet Secretaries, and a Brilliant Restauranteur. I can't wait until those days...

My group of friends, this set of radical liberals; we will one day be running this country. I have no doubt, that things might be as funny looking as our cookies, but like the cookies, they will be, in substance, great.
